Since antiquity, Sicilian women have played drums in ritual celebrations. A drum in the home was essential as they believed that the sounds of the drum render happiness in the home, especially pleasing to the 'house spirits'.

This is a mini, decorative version of a traditional Sicilian frame drum. It is 2.75 inches in diameter/ 7cm, with magnetic back and sustainably hand made in Sicily of recycled materials; painted with the the image of Sicily comprised of varicolored prickly pears. Available with green or yellow ribbon trim.
